Richard Shepherd-Cross BSc (Hons) MRICS
Richard was instrumental in the establishment of Custodian REIT plc, raising £55 million at IPO in March 2014 and subsequent placings to grow the company to its current market cap.
Richard joined Mattioli Woods in 2009 to take responsibility for the management and growth of the syndicated property portfolio, and established Custodian Capital as a Property Fund Management subsidiary to the Group. In 2014, the syndicate property portfolio and its 1,200 investors seeded Custodian REIT and were cornerstone investors at IPO.
Richard is a chartered surveyor, having graduated from Reading University in 1994 and attained the MRICS qualification in 1996. Prior to his role at Custodian Capital, Richard trained as a general practice surveyor with Hartnell Taylor Cook before joining Jones Lang Wootton (now JLL) in 1998, where he was latterly a National Director running the portfolio investment team, focusing on nationwide commercial property investment, sales, and acquisition advice.
Nathan qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1993 with Ernst & Young, specialising in providing mergers and acquisitions advice to a broad range of quoted and unquoted clients in the UK and abroad. He joined Mattioli Woods as Finance Director in 2005 – prior to its admission to AIM – and oversees the reporting and accounting framework of the Group. He also leads the Group’s acquisition activity.
Nathan is also Finance Director of Custodian Capital Limited (the discretionary investment manager of Custodian REIT plc – a real estate investment trust listed on the main market of London Stock Exchange).
He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment and holds the Corporate Finance qualification from the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. Nathan is also an independent non-executive director of Mortgage Advice Bureau (Holdings) plc, chairing the audit committee, and is a trustee of Leicester Grammar School.
Ed Moore BSoc (FCA)
Ed graduated from the University of Birmingham with a degree in Economics.
He has 13 years’ audit, advisory, and financial reporting experience with Grant Thornton, and joined Custodian Capital Limited in 2014. Ed is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Custodian Capital finance function, with a key focus on Custodian REIT plc.
Ben Aspell BSc (Hons)
Involved in the conversion of the syndicated property business to Custodian REIT plc in March 2014, Ben is responsible for the marketing and promotion of the fund, alongside building ongoing investor relationships.
Ben joined Custodian Capital in 2011 to promote the property syndicated business to IFAs and wealth managers.
Ben graduated from the University of Northumbria in 2000 with a degree in Property Surveying and has formerly held various positions as both a property surveyor, most notably with Knight Frank, and in property-related sales.
Alex Nix BSc (Hons) MRICS
Alex is responsible for the asset management of Custodian REIT’s property portfolio and is a member of the fund manager’s Investment Committee.
Alex joined Custodian Capital in 2012 from Lambert Smith Hampton, where he spent eight years following his graduation from Nottingham Trent University with a degree in Real Estate Management. He qualified as a Chartered Surveyor in 2006.
Javed Sattar MRICS
Javed joined Custodian Capital in 2011 after graduating from Birmingham City University with a degree in Estate Management Practice.
Whilst working as a trainee surveyor on Custodian REIT’s portfolio for Custodian Capital he completed a PGDip in Surveying via The College of Estate Management and qualified as a Chartered Surveyor in 2017.
Javed now operates as Portfolio Manager managing properties predominantly located in the North-West of England.
Tom Donnachie MRICS
Tom graduated from Durham University with a degree in Geography before obtaining an MSc in Real Estate Management from Sheffield Hallam University.
Tom worked in London for three years where he qualified as a Chartered Surveyor with Workman LLP before returning to the Midlands first with Lambert Smith Hampton and then CBRE.
Tom joined Custodian Capital in 2015 as Portfolio Manager with a primary function to maintain and enhance the existing portfolio and assist in the selection and due diligence process regarding new acquisitions.
